Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Motumbo Picudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Anechine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renato Anechine has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Motumbo Picudo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Motumbo Picudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Anechine!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picudo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Picudo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Picudo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Anechine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Picudo is looking for a sweep. Anechine is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anechine stands up from half guard.
Picudo tries to clinch but Anechine is having none of it.
Anechine swats away the attempt to clinch by Picudo.
Picudo tries to bum rush Anechine with a series of wild strikes but Anechine uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Anechine scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Picudo tries to improve position but can't.
Anechine landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Anechine looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Anechine looks winded!
Picudo seems a little lost for a moment, as Anechine dominates the positioning.

Anechine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Picudo tries to bench press Anechine off him but Anechine keeps the position.

Picudo is trying to escape the position but Anechine is controlling the position.

Anechine has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Picudo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anechine pinned against the cage. Anechine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Anechine fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Picudo, pushing him back against the cage.
Picudo tries to pull guard but Anechine forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Motumbo Picudo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Picudo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Anechine's efforts to push away.

Anechine lands a shoulder strike.

Anechine lands a takedown into guard.
Anechine slips nicely into half guard.
Picudo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Anechine jumps into side control!
Picudo is letting Anechine control him for a moment.

Picudo wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Anechine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Picudo is trying to defend but Anechine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Anechine is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Anechine looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Anechine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Picudo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Anechine is breathing heavily.
Anechine throws a strike but Picudo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Anechine is pulling down on Picudo's head to control his posture.

Picudo wants to control from the top but Anechine keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Motumbo Picudo just wasn't active enough.
Anechine swings for the body but Picudo moves out of range.
Anechine shoots in for a takedown but Picudo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Picudo shoots in but no luck this time.

Anechine moves into range and clinches up with Picudo.

Anechine has picked Picudo up - he's going for a ride! Anechine dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Anechine is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Picudo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Anechine works his way into side control.
Anechine tries to advance to mount but Picudo instead regains half guard.
Anechine controlling the action here.

Anechine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Picudo is just riding it out for now. Anechine eventually gives up the hold.

Anechine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Anechine is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Renato Anechine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Picudo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Anechine fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Anechine shoots in but Picudo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Motumbo Picudo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Anechine.
Picudo wants to clinch.
Anechine slips a jab and a cross from Picudo.
Anechine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Picudo doesn't manage to clinch there - Anechine circles away.

Picudo lands with a kick to the temple. Anechine shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Anechine is pushing Picudo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Picudo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Anechine just stands there and leans against the cage.
Picudo is pressed up against the cage. Anechine has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Picudo down to the mat. Picudo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Picudo is looking to clinch but Anechine is avoiding it.
Picudo misses with a double jab

and Anechine counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anechine.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Anechine controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Picudo wants to get back to his feet but Anechine passes into half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Renato Anechine was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Anechine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Picudo's guard.

Anechine is standing up over Picudo. Picudo looks to escape but Anechine dives into side control.
Picudo is trying to escape the position but Anechine is controlling the position.
Motumbo Picudo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Renato Anechine is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
