Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Can comes to the cage accompanied by Don't cross his path when he's drunk!. Jackie Can has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackie Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Bain!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Can looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bain missing with a left hand there. Can was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Can fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bain has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Can dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bain. That did some damage!
Bain checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nice takedown defense from Can. No joy for Bain on that attempt.
Can throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Can connects with a leg kick. Bain looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Can tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bain is able to avoid easily.
Can swats away the attempt to clinch by Bain.
Bain on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Can connects with a crisp jab.
Jackie Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Can is looking to score with low kicks.
Can motions for Bain to come forward. Can throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Bain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Can was covering up waiting for the punch and Bain finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Can wants to get back to his feet but Bain is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Can trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Bain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bain trying to control the position from guard on top but Can is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Can wants to stand up but Bain is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Can throws a leg kick but Bain moved away.
Bain looks to throw the jab but Can is out of range.
An inside leg kick from Can misses.
Can misses with a low kick.

Jackie Can is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Can attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Can avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Can tries to score with a low kick but Bain moves his leg out of the way.
Can lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Can walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Bain throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Can counters with an inside leg kick.
Bain looks winded!
A nice inside leg kick there by Can. That's going to slow Bain down.
Can fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bain manages to avoid it.
Can pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Can throws a head kick but Bain moves out of range.
Can throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Can tried to score with a low kick but Bain checks it.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bain checks a leg kick.
Bain shoots in looking for a takedown. Can tries to sprawl out of it but Bain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Can manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Can throws a right and a left that both miss.

Can throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Can wants to slow Bain down by chopping away at his legs.
An inside leg kick lands from Can.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Can is looking to chop away at Bain's legs.
Bain dives in and grabs Can's left leg, looking for a takedown. Can pushes down on Bain's head and hops out.
Jackie Can has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Bain.
Can gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bain.
Can tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bain is able to avoid easily.
Bain shoots in looking for a takedown. Can tries to sprawl out of it but Bain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Can manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Can throws a series of punches but Bain avoids them all with ease.
Can connects with a solid leg kick.

Bain throws a hook but Can avoids it easily.

Bain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bain tries to advance to mount but Can denies him.
Can pushes Bain away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bain gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bain trying to control the action but Can is working from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Can tries to escape but Bain is in control.
You can see the frustration on Can's face as Bain controls the position.

A lull in the action here as Bain stalls from top position.

James Bain has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Bain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Can is trying to buck Bain off.
Bain works to advance to full mount. Can defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Can squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bain controlling his opponent.
Can wants to try and get back to his feet.
Bain tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bain tries to control but Can wriggling away.
You get the feeling that Can really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Bain takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bain decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Can on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Can tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Bain.

Can displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bain throws out the jab.

Bain sizes up Can with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bain shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Can defends it nicely.

Bain takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Can is fending him off so far but Bain persists. Nope, Can circles away and we're back to standing.
Can throws a chopping leg kick but Bain manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Bain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Can sprawls well. Can wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bain gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackie Can has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Bain.
Can throws a front kick aimed at Bain's knee but Bain avoids it well.
Can throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Can with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Can fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bain is out of range.
Can lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bain at a distance.

Can takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Can connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bain. Bain circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Bain wants to control from the top but Can keeps moving.
Can preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Can wants to stand up but Bain is controlling him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jackie Can.
