Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyoto Macihda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hoyoto Macihda!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macihda throws a head kick that Tate semi-blocks.


It looks like Bobby Tate has been cut.
Macihda moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Macihda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tate drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Macihda gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Macihda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tate has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Macihda after a bit of a struggle.
Tate keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Macihda's efforts to push away.

Tate decides to pull guard.
Macihda must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Macihda wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.
Macihda wanted to stand there but Tate had control of the position.

Tate wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Macihda from controlling successfully.
Macihda won't allow Tate to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hoyoto Macihda.
Macihda tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Tate shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tate lands a nice short elbow.

Tate wants to work for an arm triangle but Macihda is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tate throws a strike but Macihda avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Macihda is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Macihda wants to stand and escape but Tate is having none of it.
Tate stands up over Macihda, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tate slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tate postures up in Macihda's guard and throws a big left but Macihda blocks it.
Macihda utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Macihda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tate sitting in guard here, content to control.
Tate loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tate is in close to Macihda's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tate postures up in Macihda's guard and throws a big left but Macihda blocks it.
Tate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macihda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tate wants to control from the top but Macihda keeps moving.
Tate is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Macihda wants to stand and escape but Tate is having none of it.
Tate slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tate looks up at the clock and then as Macihda takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tate grinds an elbow into Macihda's temple.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tate tries for a kimura but Macihda is defending well.
Macihda is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tate's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tate lands a jab to the head.
Macihda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tate keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Macihda throws a head kick but Tate moves out of range.
Macihda keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tate drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Tate lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tate throws a big right hand that misses.
Bobby Tate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Macihda avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Tate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Macihda works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tate working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Macihda wants to get back to his feet but Tate is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Tate scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Macihda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tate. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tate has gone for a leg lock! Macihda slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tate's guard.
Tate looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tate is pulling down on Macihda's head to control his posture.
Tate has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Tate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Macihda manages to get himself to full guard.
Tate keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Macihda's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tate seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Macihda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Macihda is trying to get back to full guard.

Tate is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Macihda defends it well.

Tate is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Macihda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tate.
Macihda pushes Tate off looking to stand but Tate dives back in and keeps control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tate connects with a nice short shot to Macihda's temple.

Tate takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Tate sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Macihda defending well though.
Tate wants to control but Macihda is keeping him busy.
Macihda on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tate landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Macihda throws a head kick but Tate moves out of range.
Macihda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hoyoto Macihda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tate throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tate tries to clinch up but Macihda circles away and keeps his distance.
Bobby Tate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Tate avoids the head kick by Macihda.
Tate shoots in for a double leg but Macihda sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tate uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Macihda.

Macihda throws a sloppy head kick and Tate moves out of range easily.

Hoyoto Macihda has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tate wants to finish this one by submission but Macihda is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tate.
Macihda is still in real trouble! Can Tate finish him?
Tate trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
