The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from MacArthur. Palmares does a little dance to reset his feet.
Palmares uses good head movement to avoid the hook from MacArthur.
MacArthur connects with a single shot there.
Palmares shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with MacArthur but MacArthur pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Palmares ducks under a wild hook from MacArthur.
MacArthur just misses with a punch to the body.
Palmares doesn't succeed with the takedown
and MacArthur counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
MacArthur throws a jab when Palmares was well out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Palmares is taking a breather. MacArthur says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
MacArthur is staying active underneath Palmares, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
MacArthur tries to kick Palmares off but Palmares keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! MacArthur's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
MacArthur misses the jab.
The fighters circling - MacArthur throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Palmares slips a jab and a cross from MacArthur.
MacArthur tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Palmares doesn't succeed with the takedown
and MacArthur counters with an outside leg kick.

MacArthur throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Palmares counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in MacArthur's guard now.
Palmares is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Palmares trying to control the position from guard on top but MacArthur is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
MacArthur is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rodrigo Palmares has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
MacArthur missing with a left hand there. Palmares was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Palmares dives in and grabs MacArthur's left leg, looking for a takedown. MacArthur pushes down on Palmares's head and hops out.
MacArthur throws a hook to the side of Palmares's head but Palmares sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Palmares changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. MacArthur looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Palmares lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Palmares throws a strike aimed at the side of MacArthur's head but MacArthur avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on MacArthur's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
MacArthur wants to get back to his feet but Palmares drags him back down.
Palmares works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
MacArthur is rocked!
Palmares is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. MacArthur looks calm but he's in trouble here. Palmares gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. MacArthur is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Palmares lets go of the hold and MacArthur can pop his arm back in it's socket.
