Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Diotte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Bakreek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diotte comes into the arena with Cypress Hill - I Want 2 Get High blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Diotte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Bakreek!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diotte lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Bakreek throws a nice looking combination but Diotte bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bakreek scores with the left hand. Diotte knows he should have avoided that one.

Bakreek closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Diotte quickly recovers to half guard.
Diotte blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bakreek.
Diotte has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bakreek is working away from the top position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bakreek is stalling here. Diotte is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bakreek seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Diotte has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

You can see the frustration on Bakreek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bakreek is trying to improve his position.
Diotte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bakreek keeps working.
Bakreek tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diotte wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A lull in the action here as Diotte stalls from top position.
Bakreek bucks up and tries to throw Diotte off but instead Diotte has got his back!
Bakreek holding both Diotte 's hands and preventing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bakreek manages to reverse the position and now he's in Diotte's guard. Nice work there by Bakreek.
Bakreek lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bakreek throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bakreek is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bakreek's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Diotte trying to keep a closed guard but Bakreek is proving a slippery customer.
Bakreek lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Diotte controls Bakreek momentarily but Bakreek frees himself.
Bakreek trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bakreek is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Diotte not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bakreek won't allow Diotte to get back to his feet.

Andrew Diotte has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bakreek rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diotte moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bakreek swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diotte counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Bakreek fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diotte to the ground. Bakreek is now in Diotte's guard.

Bakreek controlling from the top position.
Diotte looking for a sweep. Not yet Diotte, not yet.
Bakreek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jeff Bakreek hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Diotte lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bakreek will feel that in the morning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Bakreek dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Diotte counters with a crisp right hand that drops Bakreek! Diotte lets Bakreek back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


It looks like Jeff Bakreek has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sloppy strikes from Bakreek. Those never looked like landing.
Bakreek shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Diotte defends it nicely.

Bakreek takes one on the button.

Bakreek throws a left and a right that both miss
and Diotte counters with a leg kick.
Bakreek is breathing heavily.
Diotte throws a right and a left that Bakreek avoids nicely.
Bakreek stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Diotte.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bakreek tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bakreek looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Diotte drops Bakreek with a big left hand! Bakreek is injured, injured bad! Diotte jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Our winner, Andrew Diotte, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
