Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Sheppard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Willis!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheppard misses with a wild body shot.
Sheppard lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A swing and a miss from Sheppard.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Willis is defended easily by Sheppard.
Sheppard scores with a shot to the body.
Sheppard throws a right and a left that both miss.
Willis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sheppard to score with a decent uppercut.
Sheppard shoots in but Willis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Willis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sheppard tries to avoid it but Willis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sheppard to the ground. Sheppard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Willis. No joy for Sheppard on that attempt.
Curtis Sheppard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sheppard lands with a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sheppard misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sheppard can't find room to land a body shot as Willis controls the action.
Sheppard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Willis has him pressed against the cage.
Sheppard presses Willis against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Sheppard is trying to break the clinch but Willis is controlling him.
Willis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sheppard's efforts to push away.
Sheppard tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Willis tries for a takedown but Sheppard manages to get underhooks.
Curtis Sheppard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Willis.
Sheppard is trying to push Willis away but Willis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Willis jumps into guard, dragging Sheppard to the mat.

Willis pushes Sheppard off and gets back to his feet.

Willis moves in looking to clinch but Sheppard pushes him off.
Sheppard throws a combination. Willis tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sheppard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sheppard. Willis does a little dance to reset his feet.

A combination from Sheppard does no damage.
Willis moves in looking to clinch but Sheppard pushes him off.
Willis shoots for a takedown but Sheppard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sheppard fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Willis has managed to clinch.

Sheppard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Willis staying out of range there.

Sheppard thows a body shot but no joy.
Willis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sheppard defends it nicely.

Sheppard lands with a nice combination. Willis backs away looking to recover.
Willis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sheppard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sheppard throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Willis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sheppard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Sheppard dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sheppard misses with a series of wild punches.
Willis throws a series of punches but Sheppard moves out of range.
Patrick Willis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sheppard connects with a right hand. Willis shakes it off.
Good exchange - Sheppard coming out on top.
Sheppard darts in trying to clinch

and Willis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sheppard tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Willis avoids it.
Sheppard can't break the clinch.
Sheppard is pressed up against the cage. Willis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sheppard down to the mat. Sheppard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Willis takes a jab right on the kisser.

Sheppard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Curtis Sheppard is winning the standup battle so far.
Sheppard scores with a nice strike.
Sheppard listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Willis takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Willis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Willis is breathing heavily.
Willis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sheppard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sheppard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sheppard lands with an uppercut that bounces Willis off the cage and back into range.
Sheppard connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Willis momentarily.
Sheppard scores with a decent looking hook.
Willis walks into a stiff left hand from Sheppard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sheppard connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Willis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Sheppard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Willis wants to clinch up but Sheppard keeps it at a distance.
Willis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sheppard.
Willis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sheppard's waist but Sheppard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Willis off to one side.
Curtis Sheppard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Willis.

Sheppard throws a series of punches but Willis avoids them all with ease.
Willis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Willis takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Willis drops his hands momentarily and Sheppard takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sheppard works the jab nicely.
Sheppard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Willis on the side of the head.

Willis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sheppard scores with a body shot.
Sheppard lands a nice hook to Willis's body. Willis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Danga de danga de dang - Sheppard scores with a four punch combination!
Sheppard digs a good body shot into Willis's ribs.
Sheppard lands with a cross.
Willis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sheppard.
Sheppard throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Willis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Willis has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Willis has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Willis is rocked!

Sheppard Rushes Willis and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Willis is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Sheppard Piles on the pressure and Willis crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
