The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a half hearted mid kick.
Bak uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bak manages to avoid it.
Smith lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smith.

It looks like Jong Bak has been cut.

Bak goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dante Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jong Bak.
Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Bak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Smith tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bak is trying to break the clinch but Smith is controlling him.
Bak swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a leg kick but Bak sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Smith displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bak.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bak is defended easily by Smith.

A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Bak does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bak shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bak gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith.
Bak shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bak.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Smith throws a nice looking combination but Bak bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith feints a jab promting Bak to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bak slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Smith drops Bak with a beautiful combination! Bak stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!

Bak is rocked!

That has opened up Jong Bak's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith goes for a small jab and connects. Now Smith goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Bak stumbles back but Smith runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Bak to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Bak will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
