The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crooks takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Crooks shoots in but Sociopath avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Crooks counters by moving into the clinch.
Crooks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sociopath's efforts to push away.
Crooks throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Crooks breaks from the clinch.
Crooks bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sociopath's head backwards.

It looks like High Functioning Sociopath has been cut.
Sociopath lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A punch lands to the side of Sociopath 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sociopath looks to land a combination. Crooks sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Crooks bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sociopath's head.
Sociopath swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sociopath wants to clinch up but Crooks keeps it at a distance.
Sociopath stuffs the takedown attempt from Crooks. Crooks gets slowly back to his feet.
Sociopath throws a combination. Crooks tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Sociopath throws a right and a left that Crooks avoids nicely.
Sociopath fails with an attempt to clinch.
A combination from Crooks does no damage.
Sociopath blocks the body kick.
Sociopath tries to clinch there but Crooks circles away.
Sociopath moves in looking to clinch but Crooks pushes him off.
Crooks throws a series of punches but Sociopath avoids them all with ease.

Sociopath tries to keep at a distance but Crooks has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sociopath wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Crooks has him pressed against the cage.
Crooks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sociopath's efforts to push away.

Crooks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crooks is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sociopath.
Crooks misses with a jab, cross combination.

Sociopath wants to clinch up but Crooks keeps it at a distance.
Crooks misses with a low kick.
Sociopath tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sociopath tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Crooks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

High Functioning Sociopath's cut is getting worse.

Crooks shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sociopath manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sociopath is breathing heavily.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sociopath wants to stand up but Crooks is controlling him.
Crooks sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Crooks scoring with some ground and pound.

Crooks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Crooks looking to sit in guard and control but Sociopath gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sociopath wants to stand but Crooks is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crooks keeping moving, preventing Sociopath from controlling successfully.
Crooks is pulling down on Sociopath's head to control his posture.

Crooks looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sociopath puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Lesane Crooks dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Crooks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Crooks changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sociopath fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Crooks feints and as Sociopath raises his hands in defense, Crooks changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crooks lands a couple of elbows.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Crooks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sociopath is looking to stand up but Crooks isn't so interested in that idea.
