The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hughes pinned against the cage. Hughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hughes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Some wild striking there from Silva.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hughes circles away.
Hughes looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hughes lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Tamara Silva has been cut.
Hughes throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.

Hughes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva is trying to improve his position.

Hughes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hughes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Hughes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.
Dave Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tamara Silva.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hughes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hughes's back instead.

Silva has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Hughes is in real trouble here. Silva gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Hughes is tapping out! Silva wins by rear naked choke!
