PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Mayhem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oge Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayhem looks to clinch
and Demon counters with a low kick, right behind Mayhem 's knee.
Mayhem misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Mayhem shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Demon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Demon gets back to half guard.
Mayhem is stalling here. Demon is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mayhem seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Demon has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Demon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mayhem gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Demon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mayhem doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mayhem manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mayhem drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mayhem jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Demon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mayhem but Mayhem pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Demon instigates a clinch.

Mayhem has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Demon regains guard immediately.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mayhem accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mark Mayhem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oge Demon.

Mayhem has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Demon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Demon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mayhem drops back, looking for a kneebar! Demon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Demon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Demon!
Mayhem pushes Demon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Demon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Mayhem.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mayhem, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
