PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mr Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konrad Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black comes to the cage accompanied by yes. Koltun is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hans Solo - Dopoki jestem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koltun tries to close the distance and clinch up but Black swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Black shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Koltun napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Koltun avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Black.

Black tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black trying to control the action but Koltun is working from the bottom.

Black wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Koltun, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koltun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Koltun lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Black!
Black is desperately trying to improve his position but Koltun has a good base and remains in mount.
BOOM! Koltun connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Black slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Black is refusing to be controlled, as Koltun sits in half guard.

Black is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Koltun is aware though and is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koltun is in close to Black's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Black is looking for a triangle but Koltun pushes his legs off easily.

Koltun avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Black is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Koltun throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease.
Black moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Black misses with a leg kick.
Black swings for the body but Koltun moves out of range.
Koltun scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Koltun cracks a nice hook into Black's ribs.
Koltun tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Koltun closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Koltun is looking to control Black's arms but Black gets an underhook and turns him. Now Koltun has his back to the cage.
Black takes a shot to the head.
Black trying to control the position but instead, Koltun has worked for underhooks and has pushed Black into the cage.
Black tries to pull guard but Koltun forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Black is trying to force a seperation but Koltun has the dominant position.

Black lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Koltun.

Koltun pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Koltun lands with a kick to the temple. Black shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Koltun fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Koltun uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Black has time to react.
Koltun blocks a head kick by Black.
Koltun keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Black.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Black.
Black circles away from the clinch attempt
and Black counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Black falls off balance throwing a combination
and Koltun counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Koltun misses with an uppercut. Black saw that one coming.

Black uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Koltun.
Koltun just misses with a punch to the body.
Black takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Black closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Koltun to the mat! Koltun manages to get full guard.
Koltun has Black pulled in close to control his posture.
Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Black pushing down on Koltun's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Koltun is holding on to half guard well.
Koltun is looking to improve his position.
Black throwing shots but Koltun is blocking nicely.

Koltun has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though.

Black will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Koltun is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Black fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Black lands a nice shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mr Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee warns Koltun that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Koltun is still in real trouble! Can Black finish him?
Koltun takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Black! Koltun is hurt baaadly! Black is firing away with more strikes - Koltun is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Mr Black really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that GTI - 1337 sponsors VERSUS logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
