PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Garlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garlock comes to the cage accompanied by Dynamite. Jens Pulver will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pulver gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pulver wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pulver turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pulver manages to end up in side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pulver tries to move into full mount but can't pass Garlock's legs.
Garlock struggling a bit here.
Garlock gets back to half guard.
Garlock is pressing down on Pulver 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pulver has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Garlock is proving hard to escape from.
Garlock utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pulver trying to control the position from guard on top but Garlock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pulver postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Garlock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Garlock wants to stand but Pulver is controlling the position.

Garlock is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Pulver rolls with it to try and escape but Garlock cranks on the arm and Pulver is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
