The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makunouchi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Alves Dutra wants to clinch up but Makunouchi keeps it at a distance.
Alves Dutra tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Makunouchi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Makunouchi scores with a hook to the body. Alves Dutra takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Alves Dutra closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Claudio Alves Dutra has been cut.
Makunouchi digs a good body shot into Alves Dutra's ribs.

Makunouchi lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Alves Dutra sprawling to the canvas. Makunouchi follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Alves Dutra hang on?

Alves Dutra flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Oh Alves Dutra is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Makunouchi is taking a breather. Alves Dutra says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Alves Dutra seems to have got his legs back now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makunouchi looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Makunouchi scores with a big shot! Alves Dutra's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Alves Dutra! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
