Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wai Ting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ting comes to the cage accompanied by Sum 41 - Still WaiTing. Howard has chosen Superman as his entrance music. Dwight Howard is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wai Ting!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dwight Howard!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Howard both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Wai Ting has been cut.
Howard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ting sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Howard somewhat.

Howard forces Ting back against the cage and clinches.

Howard pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Howard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Howard is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ting controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ting wants to control from the top but Howard keeps moving.

Wai Ting has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ting.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Howard counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Howard darts in and clinches Ting up against the cage.
Howard lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ting backwards.
Ting changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Howard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wai Ting. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Howard counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Howard looks to land a combination. Ting sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ting shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Howard as he jumps to the side.

Howard lands a big head kick that sends Ting tumbling to the mat! Howard takes a step backwards and waves Ting back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Ting is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Howard lands a huge takedown. Ting is out but the ref is slow to react and Howard lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Ting lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dwight Howard!
