Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takshin Sagat!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like William Johnson has been cut.
Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Sagat's shoulder, as Sagat tries to avoid the shot.
Sagat slips a jab from Johnson.

Sagat closes the distance and clinches.
Sagat stalling.
Sagat throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sagat landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Sagat.
Sagat pushes Johnson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Stalling in the clinch from Sagat.
A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sagat lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sagat's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Still in the clinch, Sagat scores with a nice short uppercut.
Sagat stalling.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Takshin Sagat.
A left lands for Sagat.


William Johnson's cut is getting worse.
Johnson misses the jab.

Sagat closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage.
Sagat dodges an elbow strike from Johnson.
Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Sagat won't allow it.
Sagat avoiding damage as Johnson throws knees to the body.
Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Sagat has him pressed against the cage.
Sagat lands a body punch in the clinch.
Sagat creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Johnson's defenses.
Sagat is stalling here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd are getting on Sagat's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sagat lands a left hand.
Johnson can't break the clinch.
Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sagat has him pressed against the cage.
Sagat lands a knee to the head.


William Johnson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sagat lands a knee to the head.

Sagat drops Johnson with a big knee straight up the middle! Johnson is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Johnson is rocked!
Sagat uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johnson.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.
A head kick by Sagat - that's a beauty! Johnson is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Sagat can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Takshin Sagat!
An out of breath Takshin Sagat thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
