A fine choice. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Itto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Itto closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Itto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Henry Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Itto moves into the clinch.
Itto is leaning against Cruz and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Itto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Itto counters with a crisp one two that drops Cruz! Itto thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cruz to his feet! Cruz is in big trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Itto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Itto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Itto thuds his right hand into Cruz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Itto counters with a right hand that sends Cruz tumbling to the canvas! Can Itto finish him? He dives into Cruz's guard looking to do just that!

It looks like Henry Cruz has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Itto postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Cruz covers up, he's hurt! Itto keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Itto and the ref steps in to end the fight! Itto can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
