The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Teixeira moves out of range easily.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jackson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Teixeira can't fight it off and eventually Jackson manages to take the fight to the floor. Teixeira looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters circle momentarily. Teixeira darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The crowd cheers as Teixeira lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jackson doesn't seem phased though.

That kick from Teixeira tenderised Jackson's leg. Jackson is trying to keep his angry face on.

Teixeira is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Teixeira's corner calls for a 1-2. Teixeira obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Teixeira had a free shot at his head there.
Teixeira wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Teixeira cracks Jackson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Jackson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Teixeira pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Jackson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
