Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Capone!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capone tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Woods counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Capone lands a nice looking body kick.
Capone wants to clinch but Woods slips to the side
letting Woods counter with a right hand.
Capone moves to clinch but Woods breaks away
and Woods counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Woods with a jab.
Capone wants to clinch up but Woods keeps it at a distance.
Capone tries to clinch but Woods moves out of range.
Capone tries to clinch there but Woods circles away.
Capone fails with an attempt to clinch.
Woods takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Woods counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Capone doesn't manage to clinch there - Woods circles away.
Capone takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Woods blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Capone lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Woods breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Woods counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Woods.

Capone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Woods doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Woods manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Capone wants to stand but Woods is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James Woods will probably get the nod.

That's time! Woods's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woods uses his free foot to push down on Capone's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Capone.
Capone wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Woods cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Capone is rocked!

Woods lands a big elbow - Capone is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Capone is forced to tap out!
