Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Immortal Technique-Point of no return. William has chosen Outlaw's Reward as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, James William!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel misses with a wild body shot.
Steel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Steel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!


It looks like James William has been cut.
Steel looks to land a combination but William avoids it well.
Cory Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel tries to bum rush William with a series of wild strikes but William uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Steel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
William shoots in for a takedown but Steel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and William counters with a shoot takedown. Steel fights it but they end up in guard.
Steel wants to get back to his feet but William is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Steel is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and William dives into side control.

William is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Steel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Steel tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
William connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

William breaks from Steel's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James William dominated that round.

Steel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
William uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steel.

William gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Steel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Steel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
William keeps control of Steel as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Steel blocks a punch to the side of the head.
William misses with a short punch on the inside.
William lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Steel is trying to push William away but William has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
William throws a punch but it's blocked by Steel.
A body shot lands from William.
William lands with a light punch inside.
Steel scores with a nice hook to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A frustrated look appears on Steel's face as he tries to break the clinch.
William lands a right hand.
Steel tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

William lands a right hand that snaps the head of Steel backwards.
Steel can't break the clinch.
Nice body punch from William.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
William misses with a shot to the kidneys.
William lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Steel wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but William has him pressed against the cage.

Steel looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
James William seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

William scores with the left hand. Steel knows he should have avoided that one.
Cory Steel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A jab from William finds it's way through Steel's defenses.
Steel takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
William works Steel's body with a nice hook.

William forces Steel back against the cage and clinches.
Steel letting William take a breather here.

William decides to pull guard.
William looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steel is one step ahead there.

William has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Steel should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, William has tightened it up now! Steel should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
