Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sol Ution (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sol Ution has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sol Ution!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ution shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cannon defends it nicely.
Ution with a poor takedown
and Cannon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Cannon tries to sprawl but Ution drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Cannon is looking for a sweep. Ution is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ution keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
It looks like Ution might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Cannon is trying to get back to full guard.
Cannon tries to kick Ution off but Ution keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cannon tries to roll over but Ution keeps him under control.
Cannon wants to control but Ution is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cannon is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cannon fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ution on the side of the head.


It looks like Sol Ution has been cut.

Cannon scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Ution feints and as Cannon raises his hands in defense, Ution changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cannon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ution stacks Cannon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ution!

Ution throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Ution has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cannon has hold of Ution's hands but Ution slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ution is trying to control. Cannon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ution shoots in for a takedown but Cannon shows good takedown defense.

Sol Ution showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Ution feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cannon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ution should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ution drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cannon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cannon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cannon!

Ution is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cannon wants to stand but Ution has his arm trapped.
Ution is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Ution slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Ution looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cannon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ution can do anything to dispel that myth.

James Cannon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cannon wants to take a breather but Ution is having none of it.
Ution moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Ution trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ution drives through with a takedown into Cannon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Ution postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cannon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ution, into his guard.

Ution is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ution thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cannon's head.

Sol Ution comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ution winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
