Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Menjivar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clarck Murrie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Menjivar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clarck Murrie!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menjivar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Menjivar misses with a takedown attempt - Murrie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Murrie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Menjivar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Murrie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Murrie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Menjivar is trying to stand up here but Murrie is controlling him well.

Murrie decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Menjivar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Menjivar shoots in looking for a takedown but Murrie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Menjivar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Menjivar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Murrie avoids it really well and circles away.

Murrie is working Menjivar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Menjivar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murrie on the ground.

Murrie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murrie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Murrie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murrie in particular looking to stall.

Murrie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Menjivar with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Murrie has Menjivar pressed against the cage, preventing Menjivar from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Murrie is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Menjivar can't fight it off and eventually Murrie manages to take the fight to the floor. Menjivar looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Clarck Murrie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Murrie wants to get back to striking at distance but Menjivar won't allow it.

Murrie has his foot on Menjivar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Menjivar works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murrie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Menjivar's guard.

Murrie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Menjivar throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Menjivar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Murrie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Menjivar.
Murrie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Menjivar takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Menjivar keeps the fight on the outside.
Murrie shoots in but Menjivar avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clarck Murrie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Murrie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Menjivar has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Menjivar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Menjivar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Murrie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Murrie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Menjivar is trying desperately to improve position.

Murrie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Murrie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Menjivar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Menjivar shrugs it off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clarck Murrie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Murrie takes Menjivar's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.

Clarck Murrie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
