Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between MAX SWAGGER (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Nova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). SWAGGER comes to the cage accompanied by Crawl/ Kings of Leon. Nova has chosen Billy Talent "River Below as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SWAGGER looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Nova!
Nova wants to control but SWAGGER is having none of it.
Nova is trying desperately to improve position.
Nova is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

SWAGGER looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Nova is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Nova gets back to half guard.
SWAGGER working the head and body with strikes.
SWAGGER prevents Nova from improving his position.

SWAGGER has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Nova works to full guard.

SWAGGER is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nova trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
SWAGGER stopping the sweep attempt from Nova.
Nova lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for SWAGGER!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
SWAGGER is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nova can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as SWAGGER is looking to escape.
Nova lands a nice shot to the head.
SWAGGER is working to get back to half guard.
SWAGGER tries to hold on but Nova pushes him away.
Poor strikes thrown by Nova there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Nova throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
SWAGGER manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nova manages to get himself to full guard.
Nova is trying to hold SWAGGER in close to prevent damage but SWAGGER has managed to pass into half guard.

SWAGGER decides to stand and escape the position.
Nova fails with the takedown

and SWAGGER counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nova won't be happy with that.

SWAGGER tries for a kimura but Nova is defending well.
SWAGGER is working Nova over with some ground and pound from side control.
SWAGGER lands a nice forearm strike.
Nova is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on SWAGGER's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

MAX SWAGGER dominated that round.
That's time! SWAGGER's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

SWAGGER lands a nice shot to the body.
Nova throws a nice outside leg kick.
SWAGGER throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nova.
Nova throws a right and a left that both miss.
SWAGGER shoots in but Nova avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nova trying to control but SWAGGER is having none of it.

SWAGGER can't escape the position.
Nova breaks from SWAGGER's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Nova throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for SWAGGER because Nova loaded up on that one.
SWAGGER is looking to improve his position but Nova isn't that keen on the idea.
SWAGGER wants to hold on but Nova pushes him away.
Nova controlling his opponent.
Nova sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Nova working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. SWAGGER turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Nova off and cradles SWAGGER's limp body as Nova celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Nick Nova!
