The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Willis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Willis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Willis is working away from the top position though.
Willis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Willis wants to pass the guard but Mott is defending well.
Willis prevents Mott from improving his position.

Mott looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Willis scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Mott wants to get back to his feet.
Nice strikes from Willis there.
Willis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mott keeps working.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mott manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Mott looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Willis stands and throws Mott's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mott is looking for a sweep.
Willis lands some shots froms side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mott manages to work his way to half guard, despite Willis's best efforts.
Mott gets back to full guard.
Mott manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Willis is trying desperately to improve position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mott landing strikes from the mount.
Willis wants to hold on but Mott pushes him away.
Mott prevents Willis from getting the reversal.

Mott breaks from Willis's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Mott is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Willis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mott looking to finish Willis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Willis!

Willis is rocked!

Mott is working for a guillotine from mount but Willis frees his head quite easily.
Oh Willis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mott has control of Willis's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Willis regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A big strike lands for Mott! That's really hurt Willis and he's turned his back - Mott keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Mott jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

A very excited looking John Mott rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
