PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randjob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy comes into the arena with Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Hoy. That snapped Gracie's head back.
Hoy scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hoy slips a jab and a cross from Gracie.
The crowd cheers as Hoy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though.

Hoy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hoy.

Hoy postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoy swings around for an armbar but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hoy's guard.

Hoy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gracie has picked Hoy up and slammed him! Hoy can't keep hold of the triangle and Gracie manages to pass to side control!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hoy looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range.

It looks like Lath Hoy has been cut.
Hoy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gracies jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A looping hook to the body misses from Hoy. Gracie does a little dance to reset his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gracie misses with a double jab
and Hoy counters with a stiff right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoy is working for a kimura here but Gracie manages to reverse the position and he's now in Hoy's guard.

Hoy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hoy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Hoy in his guard.

Hoy wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hoy is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Hoy has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lath Hoy will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hoy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hoy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie lunges at Hoy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hoy's hand.

Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Hoy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Hoy getting side control.

Hoy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Hoy eventually gives up the hold.
