Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Jones is in close to Funkyama's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Funkyama turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Jones off and cradles Funkyama's limp body as Jones celebrates with his corner.
