Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Rotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Humper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mike Rotch has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Rotch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry Humper!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Humper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Good exchange - Rotch coming out on top.
Humper tries to work over Rotch's front leg with a kick but Rotch checks it.
Rotch cracks Humper with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Rotch wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rotch scores with a jab to the jaw.
Rotch catches Humper with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Humper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Humper slips a jab and a cross from Rotch.
Rotch misses with a two punch combination.
Humper is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rotch.
Rotch thows a left - swing and a miss!
Danga de danga de dang - Rotch scores with a four punch combination!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Humper closes the distance and clinches.
Rotch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Humper misses with a short punch on the inside.
Humper lands a right hand.
Rotch lands with a left to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Humper lands a nice uppercut.
Rotch lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Rotch pushes Humper back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Rotch tries to stall but Humper uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Rotch creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Humper's defenses.


It looks like Larry Humper has been cut.
Humper lands an uppercut.

Humper lands a takedown into guard.
Rotch looking to hit a scissor sweep but Humper is one step ahead there.
Humper won't allow Rotch to get back to his feet.
Humper connects with a couple of short punches.
Humper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Humper throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rotch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Rotch working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Humper.
Humper throws a strike but Rotch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Humper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rotch manages to get himself to full guard.
Rotch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Humper postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rotch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Humper, into his guard.
Humper wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Humper has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Let's hope that Humper has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Humper looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rotch is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Humper can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rotch is fighting to break Humper's control of his arms but Humper is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Humper.
No luck for Humper with that takedown attempt.
Mike Rotch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Humper.
Nice takedown defense from Rotch. No joy for Humper on that attempt.
Humper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jab, jab by Rotch - just one landing.
Rotch lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Humper moves in looking to clinch but Rotch pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Rotch will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Humper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rotch avoids it really well and circles away.
Humper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight stays on the outside here - Humper looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Humper on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Humper takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Mike Rotch is winning the standup battle so far.
Rotch connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Humper misses with a takedown attempt - Rotch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rotch lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Humper takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Humper instigates a clinch.

Rotch breaks the clinch.
Rotch thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rotch throws the left hand but Humper avoids the punch easily.
Rotch slaps away a takedown attempt from Humper, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mike Rotch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Humper.
Humper loads up on a big right hand but Rotch slips the punch.
Rotch's corner calls for a 1-2. Rotch obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Humper takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rotch scores with a nice right hand.

Humper has managed to clinch.
Rotch wants to get back to striking at distance but Humper won't allow it.
Rotch blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Rotch wants to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rotch takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rotch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rotch lands the left hand.
Rotch lands a nice shot to the body.
Rotch lands an overhand right.
Humper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rotch paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Humper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rotch slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


Humper is rocked!
Humper has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Humper looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Humper is still on wobbly legs! Can Rotch finish him?
Rotch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rotch misses the jab.
Rotch rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Humper counters by clinching up.

Rotch breaks the clinch.
Rotch connects with a body shot.
Rotch throws a looping overhand right but Humper ducks down to avoid it.
Rotch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sloppy strikes from Rotch. Those never looked like landing.
Rotch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Humper.
Mike Rotch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rotch throws a looping overhand right but Humper ducks down to avoid it.
Rotch connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Humper! He's out on his feet! Rotch rushes in and drops Humper with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mike Rotch!
