The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joaquin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Vita counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vita cracks Joaquin with a big right hand but Joaquin just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Joaquin is rocked!

It looks like Ricain Joaquin has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joaquin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vita wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vita landing strikes.
Oh Joaquin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joaquin is looking for a sweep.
Vita wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joaquin keeps working.
A big shot lands for Vita! That's hurt Joaquin! Will he recover? Vita fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

A relieved looking Joe Vita thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
