The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rhodes swivels and escapes.

Holmes instigates a clinch.
Rhodes lands a good knee to the midsection. Holmes won't want to take too many of those.
Nice elbow from Rhodes.

It looks like Antonio Holmes has been cut.
Rhodes misses with an elbow strike.

Rhodes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Holmes.

Rhodes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rhodes is struggling to control the position.
Holmes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rhodes's efforts to push away.

Holmes breaks the clinch.
Holmes shoots for a double leg takedown but Rhodes sprawls well. He's pushed Holmes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rhodes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kelly Rhodes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Holmes.
Holmes looks winded!

Holmes has managed to clinch.

Holmes jumps guard but Rhodes stands there with Holmes around his waist. Holmes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rhodes lands a nice elbow.
Come on Holmes - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Rhodes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rhodes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holmes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Antonio Holmes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holmes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rhodes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Holmes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Holmes steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rhodes. That one must have hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holmes tries to clinch but Rhodes is having none of it.

Rhodes stalks Holmes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Holmes's face. Holmes staggers backwards, shaken.
Rhodes moves in looking to clinch but Holmes pushes him off.
Rhodes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rhodes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Holmes's sensitive parts.
Rhodes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rhodes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holmes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fighters circle, before Rhodes throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Holmes's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Rhodes lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
