PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Reacher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reacher has chosen We Are Electric as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackman punishes Reacher's body with a nice straight punch.

Jackman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reacher, pushing him back against the cage.
Jackman throws an elbow that misses.

Jackman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Reacher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Jackman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reacher defends well.
Reacher is looking to stand up but Jackman won't let him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reacher stands and throws Jackman's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Reacher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jackman tries to sprawl but Reacher drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Reacher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackman keeps working.
Reacher is looking to advance position but Jackman won't allow it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reacher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jackman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Reacher off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Reacher ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Reacher moves into range and clinches up with Jackman.
Reacher can't break the clinch.

Jackman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reacher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reacher has escaped and now he's on top!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackman is on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackman is stalling in the full guard.
Jackman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reacher's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hugh Jackman will probably get the nod.

Jackman swings for the body but Reacher moves out of range.
Reacher slips under a jab from Jackman.
Reacher throws a head kick that misses.
Reacher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Reacher is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackman's half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jackman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jackman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jackman is looking for a kimura but Reacher is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackman to get the leverage.

Jackman wants to work for an arm triangle but Reacher is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jackman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Reacher knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Jackman seems to be working for a kimura but Reacher defends the submission attempt.
Jackman passes the guard and advances to mount!
Reacher is desperately trying to improve his position but Jackman has a good base and remains in mount.
Jackman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reacher is looking to escape.
Reacher looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Jackman has managed to slip his arm under Reacher's chin. This could be all over... yep, Reacher is tapping out! Submission win for Jackman.
