The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonathon fails with a takedown attempt.
Shipman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jonathon swivels and escapes.
Shipman misses with a body kick.
Shipman thuds a left hand into Jonathon's body.
Jonathon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jonathon lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jonathon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jonathon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jonathon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jonathon is stalling in the full guard.
Jonathon drops back looking for a leg! Shipman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shipman manages to kick Jonathon off! Jonathon jumps back into Shipman's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ben Jonathon.
Shipman lands a jab to the nose.
Shipman misses with a takedown attempt - Jonathon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jonathon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shipman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jonathon wriggles free and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shipman cracks Jonathon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jonathon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shipman lands a big head kick that sends Jonathon tumbling to the mat! Shipman takes a step backwards and waves Jonathon back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Jonathon is rocked!
Jonathon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Jonathon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jonathon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shipman on his heels. He'll look to pass Shipman's guard now, I'm sure.
Jonathon prevents Shipman from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jonathon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jonathon works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Well, if Jonathon is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Shipman is not content to let Jonathon control the position.
Jonathon is trying for a kimura here. Shipman looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jonathon wins by kimura!
