The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendieta shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mendieta wants to stand but McRon Vaseline is controlling his posture from full guard.

McRon Vaseline is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mendieta tries to roll over but McRon Vaseline keeps him under control.

Mendieta wants to hold on but McRon Vaseline pushes him away.

McRon Vaseline swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mendieta is now in McRon Vaseline's guard. A big mistake from McRon Vaseline there, giving up the dominant position!

McRon Vaseline is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mendieta wants to control from the top but McRon Vaseline keeps moving.
Mendieta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McRon Vaseline. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Karlos Mendieta.

Mendieta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McRon Vaseline to the ground. Mendieta is now in McRon Vaseline's guard.
