The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter lands a head shot.
Carter slips a jab and a cross from Sanders.
Sanders fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Sanders clinches up against the cage.

Carter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanders tries to clinch up.
Sanders wants to clinch but Carter slips to the side

and Carter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Carter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Sanders is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sanders really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jackson Sanders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter circles away from the clinch attempt
and Carter counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Jackson Sanders has been cut.
Sanders shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carter defends it nicely.
Horrible takedown by Sanders or perhaps it was just good defense by Carter which made him look bad.
Rubin Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Sanders.
Carter lands a really nice looking cross but Sanders seems unphased.

Sanders is holding his hands too far apart here. Carter throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Sanders is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
