I think Brooks might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to HOME GROWN. Cosmos Weedman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weedman swings for the body but Brooks moves out of range.
Brooks tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Weedman was well out of range. Poor timing from Brooks.
Weedman misses with a body shot.
Weedman misses the shot to the body.
Weedman takes a jab right on the kisser.

It looks like Cosmos Weedman has been cut.
Brooks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Weedman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brooks moves away from the strike by Weedman.

Weedman instigates a clinch.
Brooks is trying to break the clinch but Weedman is controlling him.
Brooks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Weedman.

Weedman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A shot to the body from Weedman misses

and Brooks counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Weedman gets back to full guard.
Weedman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Brooks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Brooks throws a big right hand that misses.
Brooks distracts Weedman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Weedman wants to sweep but no luck.
Brooks pushing down on Weedman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Brooks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Weedman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brooks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Weedman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Brooks is working for a submission of some sort.

Weedman is in trouble now - Brooks has advanced to mount!
Weedman is in a horrible position here. Brooks smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Brooks lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weedman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brooks connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brooks fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Weedman wants to hold on but Brooks pushes him away.
Brooks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brooks is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Brooks extends the arm and Weedman is forced to tap!
