Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Blaylock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naoto Sugawara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaylock comes into the arena with Head Like a Hole blaring out of the sound system. Sugawara is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eye Of The Tiger. Dirk Blaylock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Blaylock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoto Sugawara!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Blaylock does no damage.
Sugawara shoots in looking for a takedown but Blaylock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sugawara's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Blaylock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sugawara was well out of range. Poor timing from Blaylock.
Blaylock throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sugawara sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sugawara shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blaylock but Blaylock pushes him off and we're back to square one.

It looks like Naoto Sugawara has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blaylock misses with a body shot.
Sugawara steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Blaylock.
Sugawara shoots in looking for a takedown. Blaylock tries to sprawl out of it but Sugawara keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Blaylock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dirk Blaylock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Naoto Sugawara.
Sugawara displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Blaylock.
Blaylock throws a sloppy body shot
and Sugawara counters with a nice body shot.
Blaylock misses the shot to the body.

Sugawara shoots for a double leg takedown but Blaylock sprawls well. He's pushed Sugawara's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Blaylock lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Blaylock counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Sugawara misses with a takedown attempt - Blaylock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Blaylock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Blaylock connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That has opened up Naoto Sugawara's cut even more.
Sugawara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dirk Blaylock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaylock takes a swing at Sugawara's ribcage but misses.
Blaylock darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sugawara pushes Blaylock off looking to stand but Blaylock dives back in and keeps control.
Blaylock seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Blaylock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blaylock performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Sugawara tries to get to full guard but Blaylock has control of the leg.
Blaylock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sugawara with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Blaylock throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Sugawara to regain full guard.
Blaylock throws a big right hand that misses.
Blaylock looking to sit in guard and control but Sugawara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Blaylock has Sugawara pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dirk Blaylock.
Sugawara will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Blaylock looks to land a left hand but Sugawara moved out of range nicely.
Sugawara has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sugawara there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Blaylock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sugawara manages to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sugawara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blaylock tries to avoid it but Sugawara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blaylock to the ground. Blaylock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blaylock misses the body punch
and Sugawara counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Blaylock dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Naoto Sugawara's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No joy there for Blaylock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Blaylock lands a nice short elbow.

Blaylock throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Sugawara keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blaylock is nestled in close to Sugawara, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Blaylock not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Blaylock seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Naoto Sugawara's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Naoto Sugawara's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dirk Blaylock!
