The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Machida connects with a jab.
Machida scores with a spinning back kick!
A big right from Buckner misses.
Machida will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Buckner clinches.
Buckner takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Matt Buckner has been cut.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lyoto Machida.

Machida throws a hook but Buckner avoids it easily.

A lazy left from Machida finds it's target.
Buckner buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Machida drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Buckner takes a swing at Machida's ribcage but misses.
Buckner moves out of range as Machida throws a body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Buckner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Machida fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Buckner moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Buckner moves out of range easily.
Buckner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Machida paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Machida lands a jab to the nose.

Buckner takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Buckner sends Machida crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Buckner is motioning to the referee to let Machida up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Machida is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Buckner cracks Machida with a hook to the temple - Machida is on wobbly legs here! Buckner swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Machida falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Buckner wins by TKO!
