Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tsutomu Miyazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Phelps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Phelps will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phelps doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Miyazaki counters with a single leg into guard. Phelps didn't expect that.
Phelps is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Miyazaki won't allow Phelps to sweep him here.
Phelps is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Phelps is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Miyazaki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phelps doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phelps manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Miyazaki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Phelps!
Phelps is looking to improve his position but Miyazaki isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee warns Phelps that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Miyazaki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Phelps tries to lock up and control but Miyazaki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Miyazaki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Phelps looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Miyazaki has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Phelps's face.
Phelps is still in real trouble! Can Miyazaki finish him?

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A big strike lands for Miyazaki! That's really hurt Phelps and he's turned his back - Miyazaki keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Miyazaki jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

In his post fight interview, Tsutomu Miyazaki started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
