Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keiko Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynn is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Keiko Lynn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Smith's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lynn is breathing heavily.
Smith's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Lynn misses with some punches.

Smith decides to pull guard.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Smith takes the fight into the clinch.

Smith has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lynn regains guard immediately.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lynn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lynn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

John Smith has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lynn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lynn crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Smith - the referee stops the clock and Lynn gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Smith. Lynn manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Lynn tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith dominated that round.
That's time! Lynn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Smith breaks from the clinch.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Smith clinches up with Lynn and pushes him back against the cage.

Smith wants the takedown. Lynn is fighting it off but Smith persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lynn's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Smith stands up from Lynn's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lynn!
Lynn is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Lynn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Smith cracks Lynn with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Smith jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lynn manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Lynn gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.

Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smith looking to control but Lynn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Smith has clasped his hands together around Lynn's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Keiko Lynn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lynn some visible discomfort.

Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

John Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
