Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conner Magavin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matts Serra!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra looks to score with a jab to the body but Magavin is just out of range.
Magavin thows a body shot but no joy.
Magavin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Serra thows a left - swing and a miss!
Serra showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Magavin.
Magavin throws a head kick that misses.

Serra swings for the body but Magavin moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Magavin. Serra does a little dance to reset his feet.

Serra jumps into guard, dragging Magavin to the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magavin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Magavin seems to be working for a kimura but Serra defends the submission attempt.

Serra tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Magavin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Serra is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Serra leaves Magavin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Magavin. Serra shrugs it off though.
Serra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Magavin manages to avoid it.
Magavin stalks Serra and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Serra's face. Serra staggers backwards, shaken.

so Magavin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Magavin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Serra wants to get back to full guard.
Magavin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Magavin wants to take a breather but Serra is having none of it.
Serra is controlling Magavin's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Conner Magavin.

Magavin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Serra looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Magavin is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Magavin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Magavin is keen to just control but Serra is a slippery customer.

Magavin is nestled in close to Serra, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Serra is looking to control Magavin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Serra avoid being mounted?
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Magavin connects with a nice short shot to Serra's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Serra won't allow Magavin to pass to mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Serra is staying active underneath Magavin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
