The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a two punch combination.
Buster fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Buster.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches.
Gracie tries to break the clinch but Buster is controlling the position.

Buster breaks from the clinch.
Gracie misses with an uppercut.

Buster closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Buster trying to land knees to the body.
Buster lands a shot to the body.

Buster manages to break the clinch.
Buster thows a left - swing and a miss!
No luck for Buster with that takedown attempt.
No joy there for Gracie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gracie forces Buster back against the cage and clinches.
Buster wants to take the fight to the mat but Gracie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Buster chips away with some ground and pound.
Buster connects with a couple of short punches.

Buster is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Buster moves away.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Buster slips nicely into half guard.
Buster uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.

Bronco Buster dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Buster throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.
Donk. Gracie catches Buster right on the button with a cross.

The crowd cheers as Buster lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though.

Helio Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie thows a left - swing and a miss!

Gracie gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gracie throws a head punch that misses.
Buster has Gracie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gracie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Buster lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Gracie prevents a takedown attempt there.

Buster turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Buster manages to end up in side control.

Gracie wants to control but Buster postures up.

Buster has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Buster takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Buster lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Buster uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Helio Gracie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Buster clinches.

Buster breaks from the clinch.
Buster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bronco Buster. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gracie takes the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Buster is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gracie is defending well for now.
Buster wants to take the fight to the mat but Gracie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Buster is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Buster's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A right hook to the body lands for Buster.
Buster tries a body shot but Gracie blocks it.
Gracie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Buster closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.

Buster has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gracie is trying to keep an underhook but Buster manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Buster looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Buster lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Buster lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gracie hang on?
Buster scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Gracie is in a horrible position here. Buster smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Gracie is rocked!
Buster loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gracie scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Buster land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Buster stands and salutes the crowd.
