Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brandon Betts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roddy Piper!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper with a lazy takedown attempt
and Betts counters with a right hand to the body.
Betts looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Piper jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Piper misses with a straight right.
Betts throws the left hand but Piper avoids the punch easily.
Piper blocks a head kick by Betts.
Piper is looking to clinch but Betts is avoiding it.
Betts shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Piper sprawls well. Piper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Betts gets slowly back to his feet.
Piper gets caught flat footed, as Betts shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Betts sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Betts's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Betts wants to control from the top but Piper keeps moving.
Piper looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Betts passes into side control.
Betts trying to control the action but Piper is working from the bottom.
Betts lands an elbow.
Betts is looking to take a break and control but Piper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Piper regains half guard there - taking advantage of Betts's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Betts works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Piper is wriggling around trying to escape.
Piper looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Piper wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Betts drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Piper 's chin! Piper is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!
