The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shirahoshi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Broux defends it nicely.
Shirahoshi looks for a takedown but Broux sprawls well.
Shirahoshi fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wadatsumi Shirahoshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shirahoshi dives in and grabs Broux's left leg, looking for a takedown. Broux pushes down on Shirahoshi's head and hops out.

Shirahoshi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Broux tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shirahoshi is in Broux's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Shirahoshi forces his way into half guard.
Shirahoshi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Broux keeps working.
Broux is trying to stand back up but Shirahoshi is controlling him
Shirahoshi winds up and cracks Broux with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Broux trying to control but Shirahoshi postures up.
Shirahoshi working the head and body with strikes.
Broux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shirahoshi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shirahoshi uses his free foot to push down on Broux's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Broux.
Shirahoshi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

It looks like Bert Broux has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Shirahoshi looking to isolate an arm here. Broux doesn't see it coming and as Shirahoshi extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Shirahoshi!
