The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coventry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Greenberg pinned against the cage. Greenberg gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Greenberg stuffs the takedown attempt from Coventry. Coventry gets slowly back to his feet.
Greenberg scores with the left hand. Coventry knows he should have avoided that one.

Greenberg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Coventry tries to bench press Greenberg off him but Greenberg keeps the position.
Coventry is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Greenberg off and has taken his back!

Greenberg wants to control his opponent's hands but Coventry gets his hands free.

Coventry has the hooks in. Greenberg is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Greenberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coventry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Coventry keeps control of the position easily here as Greenberg tries to buck him off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Greenberg can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Coventry cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Greenberg wants to control but Coventry is having none of it.

Coventry is in the full mount, landing strikes.
BOOM! Coventry connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Coventry takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Greenberg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Coventry is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Greenberg is surviving well by controlling Coventry's body position as best he can.

Greenberg tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Coventry can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Greenberg is looking to escape.
Coventry is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Greenberg is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Coventry pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coventry postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Greenberg badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Coventry around the waist but Coventry pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Coventry is the winner by TKO! Coventry jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
