Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burgess Meredith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens connects with a body shot.
Stevens sizes up Meredith with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Burgess Meredith has been cut.
Meredith shoots for a takedown but Stevens saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Meredith. Stevens does a little dance to reset his feet.
Meredith tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Meredith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stevens pinned against the cage. Stevens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Stevens closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stevens lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevens content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Stevens postures up in Meredith's guard and throws a big left but Meredith blocks it.
Stevens trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stevens wants to control from the top but Meredith keeps moving.

Stevens sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Meredith's guard.
Meredith wants to control but Stevens is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meredith wants to get back to his feet.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stevens lands a nice short elbow.
Stevens missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Stevens lands strikes from half guard.
Stevens wants to take a breather but Meredith is having none of it.
Meredith wants to get back to full guard.
Meredith is looking to control Stevens's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meredith avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Meredith's head.
Stevens wants to pass to mount but Meredith is defending the position.

Stevens winds up and cracks Meredith with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Still in half guard, Stevens seems content to control.
Meredith blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stevens.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Meredith has his takedown stuffed
and Stevens counters with a huge left! Meredith is in big trouble! He's backing up but Stevens isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Meredith from any more damage. A dominating finish by Stevens!
