The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Lytle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Walker postures up and lands a big shot to Lytle's brow.
Lytle looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Walker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lytle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walker is aware though and is defending well.

Lytle has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.

Lytle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walker defends it easily.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Walker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lytle tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Walker pushes down on Lytle's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Walker wants to pass to mount but Lytle is defending the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lytle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Walker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lytle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walker has managed to get both his arms back between Lytle's legs - danger averted.
Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lytle swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walker wants to control from the top but Lytle keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walker's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Lytle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Walker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Walker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lytle some visible discomfort.
You can see the frustration on Lytle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Walker works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lytle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lytle keeps working.
Walker in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
