Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Astley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Astley comes to the cage accompanied by Never Gonna Give You Up. Sergei Kharitonov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Astley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Astley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kharitonov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Astley throws a shot from downtown. Kharitonov moves away and avoids it.
Astley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kharitonov pinned against the cage. Kharitonov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Astley shoots in and drives through. Kharitonov sprawls well.
Astley shoots in for a takedown but Kharitonov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Astley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kharitonov circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kharitonov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Astley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kharitonov finds it's way round the side to connect with Astley's head.
Kharitonov avoids the head kick by Astley.
Astley throws a combination that misses
and Kharitonov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Astley thinking.
Kharitonov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Kharitonov instigates a clinch.
Astley is trying to force a seperation but Kharitonov has the dominant position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kharitonov prevents the takedown attempt.
Astley is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kharitonov to keep the fight standing.

Kharitonov lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Kharitonov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kharitonov cracks Astley with a right hand to the side of the head.
Astley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Astley throws a lazy uppercut
and Kharitonov counters with a one-two to the body.
Kharitonov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kharitonov scores with a jab. Astley acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Kharitonov avoids the head kick by Astley.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Astley takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A jab from Astley misses.
Kharitonov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Astley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kharitonov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Astley wants to clinch
and Kharitonov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nice shot lands for Kharitonov.
Kharitonov is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Astley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kharitonov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Astley tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kharitonov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sergei Kharitonov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kharitonov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Astley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Astley tries to bum rush Kharitonov with a series of wild strikes but Kharitonov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fighters circling - Astley throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Astley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kharitonov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Astley tries to clinch
and Astley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A combination from Astley does no damage.
Kharitonov has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Astley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kharitonov throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Astley is rocked!
Kharitonov lands with an uppercut that bounces Astley off the cage and back into range.
Oh Astley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kharitonov pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Astley back to the cage. Kharitonov follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Kharitonov with a jab.
Kharitonov feints with a jab and clips Astley right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Astley is sent crashing into the canvas and Kharitonov leaps in for the kill! Astley tries to get to his feet but Kharitonov is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Astley is in need of a savior and steps in!
