Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julius Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bice blocks a jab.
Bice lands the left hand.
Jenkins looks to throw the jab but Bice is out of range.
Bice moves into range and clinches up with Jenkins.
Bice has Jenkins pressed against the ropes, preventing Jenkins from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jenkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jab, jab by Bice - just one landing.
Bice moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Bice takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Bice moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Jenkins avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bice connects with a crisp jab.
Jenkins thows a left - swing and a miss!

Jenkins buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Bice tries to clinch but Jenkins moves out of range.

Jenkins tries to move into range but Bice moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Jenkins lands a front kick to the face, that drops Bice to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
It looks like Greg Bice has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bice misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oh Bice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bice is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jenkins scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bice seems to have got his legs back now.

Jenkins tries to land a front kick but Bice steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jenkins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bice's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jenkins connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bice scrambles back to his feet.
Bice slips a jab from Jenkins.
Jenkins throws a hook but Bice avoids it easily.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jenkins is looking to chop away at Bice's legs.
Jenkins moves away from the strike by Bice.
Bice moves in looking to clinch but Jenkins pushes him off.
Jenkins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bice moves out of range of the body kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Having scored a knockdown, Julius Jenkins should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bice takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jenkins moves out of range of the body kick.
Jenkins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jenkins takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bice tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jenkins counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jenkins lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bice stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Some bone on bone action there as Bice checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Jenkins counters with a nice leg kick.
Jenkins throws a body punch but Bice moves out of range.
Jenkins lands the left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bice misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bice blocks a head kick by Jenkins.

Jenkins goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bice is looking to clinch.
Greg Bice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bice misses with a double jab.
Jenkins takes one to the chin there.
Jenkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jenkins scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Bice to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jenkins on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jenkins cracks Bice with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Bice is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Bice is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Jenkins looks low and kicks high, catching Bice right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!
Bice lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bice finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bice misses with a hook to the body
and Jenkins makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bice really felt that one!

and Jenkins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jenkins walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Bice throws a leg kick but Jenkins moved away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jenkins scores with the left hand. Bice knows he should have avoided that one.
A left lands for Jenkins.
Jenkins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jenkins slips a straight right by Bice.
Bice takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bice throws a right hand that misses
and Jenkins counters with a right hand to the body.
Jenkins thuds his shin into the meat of Bice's side.
Jenkins misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jenkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Bice's head.
Jenkins scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Bice to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Jenkins away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Bice got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
Bice doesn't manage to clinch there - Jenkins circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julius Jenkins will take that one after putting his opponent down more than once in the round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jenkins connects with a leg kick. Bice looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Jenkins jabs Bice right on the nose. Bice blinks but takes it well.

Jenkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bice crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jenkins - the referee stops the clock and Bice gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jenkins. Bice manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
