PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sir Jecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Kafka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jecht comes to the cage accompanied by Pink Floyd - Young Lust. Kafka has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sir Jecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Viktor Kafka!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kafka fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kafka thuds a left hand into Jecht's body.
Kafka works Jecht's body with a nice hook.
Kafka tries a low kick but Jecht avoids it.
Jecht fails with a takedown attempt.
Jecht avoids the head kick by Kafka.
Jecht misses with a takedown attempt
letting Kafka counter with a right hand.
Kafka rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Jecht counters with a shoot takedown. Kafka fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kafka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jecht trying to control but Kafka is working from the bottom.
Kafka seems keen to control Jecht's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jecht throws an elbow that misses. Kafka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jecht's guard. Nice move by Kafka!
Jecht tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kafka passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kafka remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kafka throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Jecht works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Kafka not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Kafka wants to control but Jecht is keeping him busy.

Jecht on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kafka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jecht keeps working.
Kafka is taking a breather. Jecht says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Viktor Kafka hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kafka pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Jecht misses with a low kick.
Viktor Kafka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A good leg kick by Kafka.
Kafka fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jecht is out of range.
Kafka swinging wildly here.
Kafka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kafka motions for Jecht to come forward. Kafka throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Jecht lands a lovely overhand right.
Kafka pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jecht is out of range and Kafka settles back down.
Jecht scores with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kafka.
Some wild striking there from Jecht.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Kafka.
Kafka feints and then cracks Jecht's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jecht down.
Jecht throws a hook but Kafka blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kafka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kafka looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Viktor Kafka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kafka tries to land a leg kick but Jecht saw it coming and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viktor Kafka dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A swing and a miss from Jecht.
Jecht stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kafka.
Jecht checks a leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kafka.
Jecht avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kafka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jecht.
Jecht misses with a body shot.
Jecht takes one to the side of the head.
Kafka takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kafka slips a jab and a cross from Jecht.
Jecht tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kafka bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jecht cracks Kafka with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kafka moves out of range as Jecht strikes.
Viktor Kafka seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kafka checks a leg kick.
Jecht moves forwards but Kafka connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kafka getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jecht moves away from the strike by Kafka.
Jecht takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jecht. Kafka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kafka scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kafka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jecht avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kafka staying out of range there.
Jecht is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Jecht tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kafka lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kafka scoring well with a low kick there.
Kafka misses with an attempted mid kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kafka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jecht moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kafka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jecht throws out the jab.
Jecht ducks under a wild hook from Kafka.
Good standup being displayed there by Kafka as he connects with a hook.


Jecht is rocked!
Kafka connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Jecht to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Kafka!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Viktor Kafka!
