Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Materson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Piere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Piere has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Piere!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Piere. No joy for Materson on that attempt.
Materson has his takedown stuffed
and Piere counters with a left to the body.
Materson fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Materson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Materson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Mike Materson has been cut.
Piere jabs at Materson's body.
Materson is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Piere throws a looping overhand right but Materson ducks down to avoid it.
Materson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Piere tries to avoid it but Materson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Piere to the ground. Piere escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Piere lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Materson circles away quickly and effectively.
Piere works Materson's body with a nice hook.

Piere misses with a double jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piere steps in with a hook that catches Materson right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Piere follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Materson looks absolutely devastated.
