PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Goranov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Zangiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrei Zangiev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zangiev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goranov.
Goranov tries to clinch but Zangiev is having none of it.
Zangiev leaves Goranov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Good leg kick by Goranov there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Zangiev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Goranov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zangiev is in Goranov's guard.
Zangiev stands and throws Goranov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Goranov is trying to improve his position.

A lull in the action here as Zangiev stalls from top position.
Zangiev's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Zangiev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goranov keeps working.

Goranov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zangiev on the ground.

Zangiev has an Americana. Goranov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Zangiev is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Zangiev hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Andrei Zangiev tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
