Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Batts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sturd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batts kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pro-pain - Make war (not love) . Sturd has chosen DMX - Wright or Wrong as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturd throws a body punch but Batts moves out of range.
Sturd jabs at Batts's body.
Sturd scores with a body shot.
Batts goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sturd shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sturd showed some decent athleticism there.
Sturd throwing shots but Batts is blocking nicely.
Sturd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Batts keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batts wants to control but Sturd is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sturd seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Batts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Batts wants to control but Sturd is keeping busy.
Sturd looks to land a strike but Batts avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Sturd distracts Batts with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Batts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sturd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sturd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sturd's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Batts lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sturd!
Batts is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Sturd bucks up and throws Batts to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Batts throws a leg kick but Sturd sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Sturd misses with a hook.

Batts attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Sturd thows a left - swing and a miss!

Batts bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Batts is looking to clinch but Sturd is avoiding it.
Sturd takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fighters circling - Sturd throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sturd connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Billy Batts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sturd walks into a straight right hand from Batts.
It looks like Jason Sturd has been cut.
Batts on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Nice uppercut lands for Batts. That snapped Sturd's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sturd scores with a spinning back kick!
Sturd takes a swing at Batts's ribcage but misses.
Sturd sizes up Batts with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sturd throws an off balance right hand
and Batts counters with a head kick. That will keep Sturd thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Some bone on bone action there as Batts checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Batts throws a series of punches but Sturd avoids them all with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - Batts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sturd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sturd misses with a looping left.
Batts tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sturd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sturd cracks Batts with an open hand slap.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Batts throws a chopping leg kick but Sturd manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Sturd closes this distance looking for a takedown but Batts circles away.
Sturd buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sturd misses with a body kick.
Sturd tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Batts checks a leg kick.
Sturd attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Batts takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Batts blocks a head kick by Sturd.
Sturd tries a low kick but Batts avoids it.
Batts throws a chopping leg kick but Sturd manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

A lazy left from Sturd finds it's target.
Batts throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sturd goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Billy Batts has been cut.

Batts takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A shot to the body from Batts misses
and Sturd counters with a flying knee that drops Batts! Sturd dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
